Community

A community is not just a gathering of a large group of people, it is a common bond that connects everyone in a larger group. Inside the community you have many subsets, like clubs or friend groups, but what makes a community is when everyone from all the different subsets come together and become one large group. Longwood does a fantastic job of bringing people together and making this campus feel like a home. My freshman year starting with the honors retreat was different than anything I had ever experienced before and I have made so many friends that I can hold dear for the rest of my life. But the community would not be complete with only my peers; the faculty at Longwood has helped me and many others feel more at home, and for me personally have felt like a second family.
