CMSC 355 is an elective for my Bachelor’s in Computer Science. In this class, we learned about many techniques that can be used for hacking. Some of these include social engineering tactics and brute force attacks.

It was very fun to actually carry out some of these attack in class and for labs. These were done on the lab systems in the computer science department and taught me a lot.

To receive honors credit for this class I picked an attack from the MITRE Attack Framework with the goal to carry out the attack ourselves in a controlled environment. I chose to replicate an SSH Hijacking attack. To do this I used virtual machines and mimicked remote clients. I will be presenting the poster you see below in the Spring 2023 Research Showcase.
