Attached is a presentation by Grace Auld and myself from Microbiology for a Healthcare Professional in the spring 2020 semester. This presentation was a selected bacteria, Mycobacterium ulcerans, in which we conducted research on and then made a presentation about. This presentation was suppose to be conducted in front of the entire class, however due to Covid-19 the presentation became online with pre-recorded voices. While completing this project we had to research basic information, the disease it causes, signs and symptoms, transmission, occurrence, and treatment.

Microbiology had to be one of the coolest and most exciting classes I have had to take. I absolutely loved lab. During this time we made our own agar dishes, autoclaved our instruments, identified different types of bacteria, and so much more. This class gave me the background understanding as to how and why different illness and diseases occur due to the bacteria that caused it. It is a course that I will grow upon. It also correlated with Pathophysiology which I also took spring 2020. Because of that I was able to bounce off different objective and find connections in between the tow despite them being two different classes. In the future I hope to look at working in a heath care facility in a different light be focusing on keeping a healthy and clean environment. I also have been able to carry this into today’s current pandemic as we live through Covid-19.
