Boredom can have a negative effect on a habit. If the desired habit is unsatisfying or bores you then the chances of adopting that habit are low. It is important to chose habits that are interesting or even fascinate you. The author suggests the readers to align their habits with their truest selves and not to worry about what is most popular. I personally find re-reading or proofreading my work to be boring. I suppose I could overcome that by getting a friend involved in the provision of my work because I enjoy socialization. If I had a friend going over my work with me, I would definitely feel less bored.
An accountability partner could be a valuable tool for clients. I could pair two clients together that would be willing to sign off on a habit contract for each other. The habit contract could be an “official” document that I have a copy of. I believe this tool would be very effective in not only helping clients reach their goals but also fostering meaningful relationships.
