I took PHIL 308 in the fall of 2018. It is an introduction to ethics course where we were able to learn about different philosophies and ways of thinking as well as different argument forms that the different philosophies take. These all pertained to different ethical things that we face in everyday life. The artifact I chose from this class was that of our final paper. For our final we had to take someone’s argument and refute it. Through this paper I grew a lot from my previous work in class and truly utilized my knowledge that I built. I think I was able to adequately refute the argument put forward by the ethics paper by giving a counterpoint to each of the authors premises. If I were to go back I would probably provide more factual evidence when making my counterpoints. From this class I was able to take away valuable skills of how to intelligently argue a point in a logical form.
