In the Fall of 2017 I took the honors special topics class “Love, Sex, and Friendships”. In this class I learned a lot about the philosophy behind the three things the class was titled after. We learned about different famous philosophers and then we gave our opinions about what they had to say as well as our own opinions on the topics. My artifact is an essay that I wrote on the topic of erotic love. This essay demonstrates the use of the knowledge I learned from different philosophers while in this class. I utilized elements that we had learned thus far in the class and applied them to this paper. In this paper I realize I could’ve been more in depth on my details rather than relying so heavily on the sources. My goals after this class are to apply my knowledge of philosophy to other classes and to understand the complexities of the world.
