Philosophy 315

I was very nervous to take this course. I had never taken any courses for philosophy and was nervous about the debates and classroom discussions that I knew were part of this course. However, I was surprised that this course enhanced my beliefs regarding controversial medical topics and I learned about many philosophers. I also became better at completing my readings after taking this course, which was always something I had struggled with as a student.

This course enhanced my confidence as a student in many ways. I became more confident about my ability to take quality notes, and most importantly, hold my own in a debate, which is something that I have struggled with my entire life. Slowly over the semester, I found myself engaging in classroom discussions simply because I actually cared about the material. I even found myself researching medical ethics after the semester ended, and know that it is something I will remain interested in with my future career of Nursing.
