History 338

I was very excited to be able to take a history course at Longwood University since I had satisfied my history requirements in high school. History of Islamic Civilizations also appealed to me since many of my friends are Muslim and I wanted to learn more about Islamic culture. In this class I read about Islamic history and learned how Islam was founded, and also read directly from the Qur’an. The course discussed the readings we did every day in class, which was overwhelming at first, but became easier as the semester went on

This course was meaningful to me since I love history, but have no real reason to take history courses as a nursing student. Being able to fine-tune my geography and gain information about the Middle East has helped me understand what is going on there and why it’s happening. The artifact I attached is a reflection after reading the assigned reading of the Qur’an before class.
