The Special Olympics Powerlifting Competition made my heart so happy. There were so many strong-willed men and women who showed their big heart and true talent to all of Farmville and the rest of the world. I got to spend the day with them, watching and supporting them do absolutely amazing things. I got to take lunch to all of the team and coaching staff while talking to all the competitors and their parents. This was such an amazing experience that allowed me to grow as an individual and learn so much about a wonderful organization. I will definitely be volunteering and most importantly supporting these individuals every single year I can! They deserve all the recognition and support because their talent is unbelievable! I also am so happy that Longwood hosted this event, as it shows the big heart Longwood and Farmville hold on its shoulder and how our community helps all other communities, as they do with us too.
