Scholarship is an Honors pillar focused on academics, and I find that this pillar is especially meaningful for me because I like having that GPA and course goal every semester. While the Honors courses and enhancements are requirements to be eligible for the Cormier Honors College, I find that it keeps me striving to be the best scholarly version of myself. Having to take another class every semester also helps me be able to manage my time and stress, balancing it with my social life in the communities of Longwood. I definitely also look forward to studying abroad, because I know that it will help me expand my knowledge and perspective for my field and/or other students’ fields. In the future, I do plan on enhancing some of my graphic design-specific classes so that I can further apply the knowledge that I gather during the semester. This pillar is meaningful to me because it ensures that I always keep academics in mind during my time here at Longwood, and that I always know that my education is in my own hands.
