This class was actually very interesting to take. I had never taken a class that only focused on evolution and I only had a small background with ecology. I was able to learn how to incorporate examples of experiments and situations to concepts during lectures. I liked the way that Dr. Leech structured her lectures and lessons because they consistently had applications onto real world situations. Another aspect of the class that I enjoyed was that we majorly focused on interactions between animals, which I absolutely love.
The paper that we had to write for this class was pretty challenging at times. My lab group decided to data mine and compare ages of death across gender among other variables. It was different from other research papers because our data did not come from our own experiment. We also had to create a powerpoint to present during research day. I liked this format because it allowed us to present more data than a poster would have.
