Goal 11

Goal 11 – Physical Activity: This goal requires students to take Phed. In this class students are required to go to a lab once a week as well as send in fitbit statistics once a week. At first I was not that excited about this class because I have never been one that loved P.E however, this class actually turned out to be fun. I really enjoyed using a fitbit. It was very interesting to see how much you move in a day and since we had a goal of 10,000 steps per day I found myself moving even more than I would normally due to fact that I had a goal to reach. Not only did we deal with how many steps we took in a day, but we also looked at our diets and examined what areas we were lacking important nutrition. I have never taken a class on how many calories you are supposed to eat in a week and items of that nature. This project had us cataloging everything that we ate for two weeks. Although it was a short period of time I was still able to see what my daily intake of calories were as well as what food groups I needed to add to my diet. I think this class is one that can benefit me for years to come especially since we live in a society that is so threatened by obesity. Attached is an example of what one of our weekly reports that show how many steps I took in a week.
