Service

Since coming to Longwood I have gotten involved with many community service opportunities. My absolute favorite thing that I have gotten involved with thus far has been working at Zephyrs Stables. Ambassadors go to the stables serval times a semester and I have not missed one opportunity to go. When working at Zephyrs there is no telling what you may do. Somedays you are getting down and dirty and helping around the farm and other days you get to work directly with the horses, grooming them and just spending time with them. All of these horses are recuses so any time you give them they love! I have also gone to Hull Springs Farm. During this time the group helps around the farm as well as going out into the community to help out in some way. One day we raked leaves for an elderly lady and another time we went to the local food pantry to help out there. Everyone always has an amazing time during this retreat because not only do we have the opportunity to help people out, but we also are able to get closer as and honors family. Through my sorority I also have many opportunities to work at the local food pantry, FACES and well as do service for my philanthropy, ovarian cancer. Longwood offers a wide variety of community service opportunities and I am so glad that I have the ability to help out.
