Honors

The Cormier Honors College at Longwood requires its students to enroll in eight honors classes. These classes typically have a smaller class size and the students gain an even closer relationship with their professor and fellow classmates. These classes are my favorite classes that I have taken at Longwood because you are forced to work hard and learn something. Although this may sound a little scary, it actually is really fun. You may be asked to do a lot, however the professors are good about finding enjoyable ways to do the assignments as well as assign things that are pertinent to your life. When asked to describe an honors class to a non-honors student, the honors student typically says, “It is not harder work, it is just different work.” Honors classes are something that one definitely must get used to, however once you have, you are going to start to wish all of your classes could be honors classes.
