Quantitative Reasoning

Statistical Decision Making (MATH 171)

Spring 2019

Before going to my first statistics class, I was very nervous. I had taken AP Statistics in high school and had a horrible experience. I never really got an understanding of it. I remember having to go to tutoring and watching Youtube videos to even know how to solve a problem. The only reason I even took the AP exam was to get out of the final exam. But when I got to class, it was SO different! Professor Stanton was amazing on teaching an introduction course to statistics. Her pace was perfect for me to grasp the information we were going to be tested on. I was so surprised when I got a 100 on my first exam. That is when I realized that statistics in high school was much harder than it needed to be. Moreover, our exams with Professor Stanton were multiple choice, while in high school they were hand-written. I am so glad I got to take this course because I learned that the way a professor teaches a subject really has an affect on how you will learn. Throughout the course, we had homework assignments, exams, and written papers. Below, is a copy of my first written paper that I also got a 100 on.
