Service

Service is about being able to give back to the community, which is very important to me. In high school, I volunteered at various places, such as Chippenham Hospital, Greenfield Elementary, and the food bank that helped me gain leadership experience and helped me grow as a person. In a new town and a place to call home, I wished to do the same. During my freshman spring semester, I decided to join Alpha Phi Omega, our national co-ed fraternity. Through this fraternity, we have been able to give back to our brotherhood, campus, community, and nation. We have volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, Relay for Life, blood drive, Buddy Ball, Camp Easter Seals, and much more. Being able to give back gives me such a rewarding feeling and being able to be a part of APO has helped me fall more in love with service. With the spirit of CHI, Princeps, and others, it hovers over us to help one another without seeking reward. Hence the CHI motto goes, “Service to the whole without seeking honor for thyself”.
