Pharmacology Enhancement

During my fall semester of my third year at Longwood University I was able to enhance my Pharmacology and Nutrition courses for an honors credit. My partner, Seth Seward, and I chose five medications to provide a review of information with food and drug interactions for our classmates at the end of the semester. We chose Rivastigmine (Exelon), Diphenhydramine (Benadryl), Azithromycin (Zithromax), Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), and Metroprolol (Toprol XL, Lopressor). As you can see in our presentation attached below we provided the drug category, food interactions, rationale for use, side effects, examples of potential patient experience, education, and community resources to prevent complications. This project was also beneficial for both ourselves and our classmates prior to finals.
