I thoroughly enjoyed this course because I am interested in working in pediatrics as a registered nurse. I learned about the major milestones of child growth and development through different theories and researchers. This information allows me to look for certain character traits in the children I babysit and teach dance classes to. Now I am able to encourage certain actions and behaviors to further their growth. The material covered in this course provided discussions and real life examples from patients that allowed me to better grasp the concepts.
Throughout the semester I worked on the Three Ages Project which allowed me to witness different stages of child development in my family. Stage two of the project consisted of a ten page paper which was overwhelming to me at first. However, I was able to conquer it and now have the confidence to complete larger research papers. I look forward to using this knowledge through my education and daily activities.
