Spanish 201: Intermediate
I took this class online over the summer through Longwood after my first year. This class was a lot of work that I had to complete in a very short amount of time. I am very happy I decided to take this class because it would have been even harder in the classroom setting because I hadn’t taken Spanish in two years. I love the opportunity to take classes online because with nursing it is very hard to fit in classes within our very packed schedule. This class was totally worth it because I was able to complete the class in a timely manner and complete the goal needed.
Also, I learned a lot about the culture through numerous videos I watched as well as numerous readings about different Spanish speaking countries. I hope to one day travel to one of these countries and experience the music, the food, and the people. Cultures are what make everyone different and it is important to learn about these cultures in order to better understand one another. We can see what they believe in or what they like to do based on their culture. Different cultures are all throughout the United States and people may look the same, but believe different things. This class allowed me to look at a different culture and see what they see. It inspired me to learn more about other places and take advantage of opportunities to meet different people and travel to different places.
This class inspired me to travel abroad. I plan to go somewhere where I can learn more and interact with people who have a different way of living and thinking.
This is a powerpoint presentation that a couple classmates and myself completed to explain the cultures of Chile.
