LSEM 100: Longwood Seminar

LSEM was the Longwood Seminar Class as well as goal 1. This class is required by honors as honors credit. All of the freshman honors students take this class and are taught in the classroom in the honors dorm, Wheeler. Usually the LSEM classes are broken up by major, so that we get to know the people who are within our same field.

During the honors LSEM class, we learned about Longwood and what was expected of us within the Cormier Honors College and as a Longwood student. It was a class offered that gave us the opportunity to ask questions to an upper classmen/mentor and to help us with the normal struggles of first year college students.

LSEM allowed me the opportunity to become great friends with people in my class, and speak to a mentor whenever I am in need of help or just a friend.

The paper below explains what I learned during my seminar class for adjusting to Longwood life. I learned that Longwood is committed to citizen leaders and I learned what that means during my first year experience.
