Scholarship is the idea of continuing growth and education. It means that someone is willing to invest in your future in order to further your efforts to grow. I think that scholarships are a great way to experience new things and have the opportunity to view different opinions. For example, without the Honors College encouraging us to explore the world around us then I would have never decided to study abroad or take a trip out west. Longwood has inspired me to travel and visit new places in order to expand my horizons and learn about the world around me. Everyone and everywhere is different and we must learn from others in order to better understand. That better understanding can be about the world, about diverse people and cultures, and about yourself. Scholarship has provided me the opportunity to learn and understand what it is I really want in life. I want to be happy and be able to explore freely. I want to stumble upon experiences because those always seem to be the best moments compared to the planned ones. I have really enjoyed the opportunities that Longwood has provided and I encourage others to take advantage of the learning and growing opportunities they have to offer.
