Math 135

The title of this class was Mathematical Modeling of Finances. I don’t like math very much but this class was actually pretty interesting. I have an interest in economics and viewing math through that lens made it tolerable. The math we learned has a practical use, as well. Interest rates and payment figures are all things that people need to know to make sure that their money is working the hardest it can for them. I found myself enjoying the homework for this class and even completing it weeks before it was due just because it was fun to do. One of our first projects was a written assignment, which I liked. We responded in the form of a letter to a fictional cousin and discussed college tuition prices and the pros and cons of different colleges from a financial perspective. I enjoyed these types of projects and creating useful graphs and models.
