Brochure

The Brochure assignment for this course was one of the first major team projects that I experienced within this class. Considering the parameters of this assignment, our group was tasked with creating a hypothetical product that we would then promote through a visual brochure. A notable area of significance for this project was developing the skill to present a product that would be been seen on a mass, public scale. Accordingly, we had to consider a plethora of vital elements such as reservations about the product that our audience may have, balancing necessary information with supportive images, and creating a document that possessed a strong as well as visually appealing design that sparked the reader’s interest.

In working on this project, I was able to encounter and address the previously mentioned course outcomes of writing for specific rhetorical situations and genres. Of important note, this assignment allowed me to develop the skill relating to the course outcome of conducting research in order to fully complete an assignment. Specifically, our group had to navigate to and utilize independent websites that offered public, royalty-free images. Due to the fact that this was a group project, I also was able to address the extremely vital Course Outcome 6 for participating in a collaborative group project. Further discussing course outcomes, our group also had to closely follow proper formatting and design principles in designing this brochure as a number of items, whether grammar or the presentation of information, differed notably from other writing assignments presented within this course.
