Professional Skills Development – Management 391

I added in this class as my last professional development item. This class is called Professional Skills Development, only meets once a week, and a requirement before any business major can partake in their internship.

As the name describes, we learn several skills that are needed in the workforce. Some of those include how to give presentations, how to ask meaningful questions during interviews, workshops to perfect our resumes and cover letters, as well as an etiquette dinner and mock interviews. This class really sets the tone for how a professional is supposed to act in the real world and prepares us for what is to come.

Even though I took this class during the COVID-19 Pandemic and some of the events had to be online, like the mock interviews, I still was able to gain valuable skills. I am glad Longwood offers this class so we can meet new people while also sharpening our own skills.
