Letter To Senior Self

Wow, three years sure did fly by. It seems like I was just entering my first class yesterday, but now I am looking back on my short time at Longwood as I prepare to walk across the stage.

I remember moving in during my first year. I had some challenges including adjusting from being in a new, bigger town, having to switch roommates mid-semester, and trying to make new friends while keeping a high grade point average. It was difficult in the beginning but it was worth it in the end. I joined several organizations that have helped shape me into the person I am today.

Delta Sigma Pi – This is the professional business fraternity at Longwood University and all across America. I joined this my first semester not only because I am a business major but because I was trying to be more involved on campus and create new networking opportunities. In only one year alone I have gained lots of new friends and opportunities from being in this organization. This organization has definitely had the biggest impact on shaping me into the professional businesswoman that I am today.

Alpha Lambda Delta is an honor society for first-year success. My plans of being formally inducted during April 2020 was disrupted by the Coronavirus. I will officially become a member in the Fall of 2020, but I am very excited to have been asked to join this great organization.

Honors Student Association and Cormier Consul are two organizations that are combined with the Cormier Honors College. These have helped me form connections in the honors college and become more familiar with it. Hopefully, by senior year, I will have held a leadership position to gain more knowledge.

I hope that by senior year I have continued to hold myself at very high standards. I hope that I have accomplished everything that I set out to do, from having a high GPA, getting my dream job, and finally graduating! Longwood will hold the best memories and years of my life and I will cherish them forever!
