This was my Citizen 410 class which was taken in the Fall of 2021. I honestly loved this class even though it was at 8am and Professor Dolence made it so fun and welcoming!
The entire point of our class was to get into groups and then pick a topic of interest and come up with a project about it. I was in a group with Danielle Toone, and we decided to do our project on composting on campus to save food waste. We had a lot of setbacks with people not answering us, saying no, and more, but now we know what it takes to make something happen in the real world. This project ultimately did not end up happening, but we need to do better as a whole with where our waste goes in the world. In the end of the class we presented our work during the symposium day and it went great!
My artifact below is our final project where we outlined everything that we did and facts about composting!
