Scholarship. When we hear this word the first thing that comes to mind is money and how we will afford college. Unfortunately, some of the brightest students are not able to attend college solely based on financial status. Thankfully, Longwood and the Honors College is able to award high amounts of money to their students based on their academic achievements. Thanks to this, I was able to attend college and not have that stress in my mind about finances.
Not only do we think of money when we hear the word scholarship, but we also think about our academics and other ways to be involved and make the most out of our four years of college. Longwood offers hundreds of clubs, organizations, fraternities, and sports that offer the students with lots to do in their free time. The Honors College also has several organizations such as the Honors Student Association and Cormier Consul, which I am involved in both and they have given me many new opportunities.
Scholarship is one of the three most important aspects of the Honors College and it involves more than just the financial aspect of college.
