This class was not originally suppose to be an honors course, but we were able to have it split into a split section. I took this course because it was available as one of the electives under my Economics minor.
I had no idea what to expect going into this except that it would be about the United States and how our monetary system works. It actually was much more than that, including different countries and how their systems are set up. It also included more math and formulas than I expected, but the professor was very nice and understanding whenever I had questions.
For the two honors aspects, one of them was to take a third world country and examine the monetary and fiscal effects due to COVID-19, while the other was to create a hedge fund in a small group and write a report on it. That was the most challenging assignment of the entire semester! My artifact is our report from the hedge fund assignment. Instead of creating a hedge fund, out group actually created a money market fund and was able to invest to make money for ourselves. This course was very challenging but I am grateful we were able to make it into a split section.
