History 126: World History II

This class was one of my most challenging classes, which I did not expect. Fortunately, throughout the 2020-2021 school year I have not had many classes affected by COVID-19. However, this was my only completely online course that I had. Because is was an asynchronous course, it took a lot of effort and willpower to stay on track and keep up with the material. This was a big challenge for me as online learning is not for me. It taught me how to manage my time better and prioritize work. Other than the online aspect, this class was great. Even though I had to watch from my computer, my professors passion about world history made learning a little bit easier and more engaging.

Another challenge this course presented was working on group projects in an all online class. Finding group members and ways to work together safely was surely interesting, but we found ways to get creative and learn together. This project in particular had its own sets of obstacles. As if COVID regulations weren’t enough, two of our group members had dropped the class during the project, leaving just me and my groupmate. We had to work together to quickly adapt to our situation and pull together a great final product. For this project, we observed how COVID-19 has created IDPs by quarantining people in their own homes, and how this relates to IDP crises globally.
