Academics have always been a very important part of my identity. I have always worked very hard to be scholarly, which made my decision to join the Cormier Honors College an easy one. I wanted to be in a school environment where I could push myself to learn more. I was very proud to have gotten on the Dean’s List this year as a testament to all of the hard work and late nights of studying that I put in. However, throughout this year, I realized that scholarship goes beyond just getting good grades. Scholarship includes a fostering of creative thinking and curiosity, both of which my honors courses strongly encouraged and drove me to do. As I continue with my time at Longwood, I hope to not only maintain good grades but to also pursue my scholarly passions with driven curiosity and creativity in order to make the most of my educational experience.
