Advanced Writing Seminar:
For this class, we were given the opportunity to create a project that would in some way change the world, wether it is a small change or a big change. I chose to create a program, called Wacky Wig Wednesday, that would aid in alopecia awareness and acceptance. Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that caused random and unpredictable hair loss.
Creating a project such as this one would raise support and awareness for alopecia. More children with alopecia would have the love and support they need and deserve. This program would decrease the varying emotional traumas that this disease can cause and allow these children to live with support and happiness. Actually carrying out this project could change the lives of many children suffering from alopecia, so I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to officially create this program and do just that. My knowledge and personal experience with this disease would hopefully aid in leading this program and helping empower young children. Creating this program would give me the opportunity to become leader within this small alopecia community and support children who are experiencing this impactful disease.
