Service

Throughout my time at Longwood, I had many opportunities to give back.

This picture here is of a canvas that inmates for Piedmont Regional Jail painted for us. My freshman year I was able to volunteer at Piedmont Regional Jail for a semester. This was an extremely eye-opening and fulfilling experience.

After having alopecia for about 10 years now, I have taken every opportunity I can get to help raise awareness for this disease. This picture is at a Washington Nationals baseball game, which was being played to raise awareness for alopecia. I helped fundraise and raise awareness during this event.

Throughout my time at Longwood, I participated in many different fundraisers and awareness walks. In the Chemistry Fraternity that I am apart of, Alpha Chi Sigma, every semester we will partake in different community service events, This picture is from a walk to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

During my time at Longwood, I was given the opportunity to take an Emergency Medical Technician class at the Prince Edward Rescue Squad in FarmVille. As I am in the process of attaining my full EMT license, I have volunteered with the Rescue Squad. I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience, and can’t wait until I go to PA school and learn and experience even more.
