Goal 5 – Mathematical Thought
Statistical Decision Making:
In this class, I gained the knowledge of statistical ideals and tools of practical statistics and their usefulness in problem solving and decision making. As a science major, the skills that I have learned from this course have helped me in many of my biology and chemistry classes. Math has never been one of my strong suits, however this class aided in my knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis and the ideals encompassed within statistics. Overall, at the end of this class, I had an confident understanding of graphical displays of data, measures of central tendency and variability, sampling distributions, and confidence intervals and hypothesis testing for means and proportions. I know that whatever I end up doing after my college career, the skills I have learned in this class will definitely come in handy.
