Intermediate I Spanish:

In taking this foreign language course, I developed skills in speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing in Spanish. I also learned how to apply these skills in the context that explores Spanish and Latin American cultures. Even after taking three years of Spanish in high school, I was never good at understanding this language. However, this class helped me understand the underlying grammatical and syntactical structures that I was lacking, which aided in my overall comprehension of this language. Not only did we learn this language, we also studied Spanish culture, such as food, music, celebrations, social customs, landmarks, art, political and historical events. The class was also given the opportunity to become immersed in this language and culture by participating in Spanish-speaking communities, through attendance at college and local Hispanic cultural activities.
