Goal 11 – Physical Activity

In the course of this class, we have learned about different areas of our health. In our labs and assignments, we learned about stress, diseases, FMS exercises and other workouts. We also had to get 10,000 steps a day. After finishing this class, I realized that my exercise habits weren’t what they should be. Having to track my steps everyday and submit them every two weeks showed me that I needed to come up with a better system.

To achieve my 10,000 steps everyday, I had to start a new routine. Before this class I would exercise occasionally. In high school, I was very active. I played basketball almost everyday as well as soccer. When I got to college, I lost the free time to go on the court or go to the gym. I think that adjusting to the college life is difficult for everyone and takes some time. This semester I joined the swim team, which was a great exercise as well as a stress reliever. At the start of this class I realized that I wasn’t exactly getting the 10,000 steps a day. I started to go to swim practice more often and when I didn’t, I went to the gym. I saw that my routine started to change. I noticed that after doing this for about two weeks it didn’t seem like a hassle anymore.
