Introduction to Statistical Analysis
Freshman year, Spring 2020:
This was my first stats class ever, I had taken calculus in high school and loved it because of my amazing teacher. So the fact that I have never been a super genius when it comes to math made statistics intimidating. Turns out it was not as hard as I thought, and even though it was a totally different type of math I adjusted and loved it. I learned through this class I learned to never let your weakness intimidate you because you are capable of more than you think.
I had a turning point in my sophomore year of high school, I had assumed I was not capable of taking the harder classes because my older brother had not. The moment when I realized I enjoyed the challenge was the moment that led to me being the person I am today. I know that I am not the smartest person in the room, the people who have never studied a day in their life continue to be an anomaly. Math is one of my weak points because it is one of the hardest subjects to study for. My eyes scoured the homework, notes, and quizzes for hours in preparation for the tests.
However, this class was one of my weak spots after the online transition. I was struggling and that was hard to see because I knew that I did everything I could to do well in the class despite all of the setbacks. This taught me that I cannot be the best at everything and I will struggle even when I give it my all just due to the nature of life. These hardships taught me to understand that outside factors have such a large role in your life whether you like it or not. Sometimes no one can control the situation or the circumstance, but you must persevere.
