Introduction to Psychology
Summer Intersession 1 2021:
This class was fully online and only 3 weeks long. During this time I was shadowing full days at Dr. Marshall’s office and working the night shift about three nights a week while taking this class. I was really struggling to balance it all. I like psychology but this class in particular made me question the citizen curriculum because it was something just a choice of classes that may or may not help me in my future endeavors. I made the best out of this class and made it help me understand the psychology behind dentistry more. I would attend lectures, take notes, and then take honor lock quizzes. This fast-paced class was done in a blur and I really don’t remember much because of how much I was doing during this time.
I was really excited to complete my final project which I have attached here. This presentation was on the long history of psychology in dentistry. In this, I outlined five articles that explained how dentistry is always aiming for painless interactions. Many people fear the dentist because of the close proximity that is required to do dental work. I now know why the dentist is always talking to me while in my mouth, they are just trying to distract me from the pain!
