Biochemistry 1
Senior year, Fall 2022:
Biochemistry 1 is a cumulative experience of biology and chemistry. I was excited to take this class because it was with Dr. White, I had Dr. White when I was a freshman so it was cool to experience such a drastic difference between the two classes with him. The class was super straightforward forward we had lectures during class and three tests with a final. He changes the class each year to switch it up and see what is best for the content. To help myself understand the information better I would write down the notes before each lecture in order to see it one time before I went to class so I could fully listen to his dialogue and ask questions to expand my understanding. I do this so that the week before the test I know everything and can make a really good Quizlet with all the information he said during class was important to fully understand.
I did really bad on the first test for me at least. The second I did really well and the third was combined with the final I did okay. I tend to get really disappointed when I don’t get the letter grade I wished for initially. However, this is an upper-level class with really complicated information. I have learned to not beat myself up over not a grade and really focus on how much I actually gained information-wise. I think that this class will really help me with the metabolism cycles that are on the DAT.
My artifact is the meticulous notes that I took and Dr. White said I should scan them because of how much time I spend writing them and making them look very nice.
