Letter to my Senior Self

Dear Senior Emily,

I hope college has been what you thought it was. Your freshman year was cut short, but there’s so much more times to make the memories you’ll hope and dream for.

Did you keep your GPA up? This semester was hard, but goals are able to be kept, and I want so much for us for the future.

Are you still hoping to be a teacher? It’s been a rough journey, changing a major multiple times, just crying because you still have no idea what you want to do, just hoping you’ll get into a classroom and know you’re in the right place. Also, where have you taught? What schools have you visited?

What was the triple suite like? My full first year of dorm living was cut short, but we still have one more year to experience it! Was it a crammed space, were the girls everything you thought they would be, did you spend late late nights in the chapter room playing the Wii and binge watching everything?

Did you join anything else on campus? Mom always says not to fill our plates with activities, but I have so many goals of what I want to do on campus. What was your first tour like? Did you finally get to be a director of Pitch Perfect? Did you ever be a Peer Mentor? Did you do KDPi? Did you hold any other positions in Sigma?

I hope so so many things for you, but I hope you didn’t sweat the small stuff, I hope you’re loving what you’re doing, I hope you can be proud of everything we’ve done, and lastly I hope you’ve been the happiest and most positive you can be. I mean, why be such a Debbie Downer when you can be happy and positive and inspiring?

I hope you’re doing well, and I hope just everything good for you.

Love,
Freshman Emily.
