ENGL 380 – Children’s Literature

In this course we learned how to take a literature approach in children’s book without actually referring to children. We learned about the different ways in which you can analyze a book as well as identify unique characteristics of children’s literature.

I thought I wouldn’t like this class because like I’ve said before English is not my strong suit but I actually began to like this class about half way though. I was not prepared to read that many books especially not children’s book but I really enjoyed all the books we read. There was a few that I would forget were even meant for children. I also liked how every day we learned about a new way to analysis books we never really looked at each book the same way. We would include previous topics we talked about but we were also able to discuss new topics we learnt that day.

My artifact is my midterm that I did. For our midterm we had to answer 11 questions with a paragraph. Each question dealt with a different topic we had talked about.
