Freshman year, 2019 Fall semester:
Thanks to my Spanish 320, I was able to learn more about the Aztec culture and traditions, as well as improve on my Spanish writing skills. Although I will say that the course overall wasn’t as challenging as I was expecting it to be. I believe I gained through Spanish 320 new skills in regards to grammar, but I didn’t gain as much new knowledge in the aspect of being challenged through my peers. I believe that one of the reasons why I wasn’t challenged through my peers was because since Spanish is my first language I didn’t have an issue in communicating in Spanish compared to my fellow classmates.
The only difficulty was sometimes understanding what the professor wanted to see in my writing. At first, writing a story that would be approved by my professor was a struggle for me, but once I had a better understanding of her expectations I was able to fulfill the criteria.
Overall, I had a lot of fun making presentations as well as learning about Aztec God called Huitzilopochtli. Also, I enjoyed making new friends as well as improving my Spanish writing skills.
