SLO 2: Clinical skills checklist and SIMCHART Exemplar

Delivering Proficient Patient-Centered Care

During my clinical rotations, I learned how to care for my patients in the most efficient way. This included being checked off on skills before performing them in the clinical setting, as well as being evaluated on my performance during clinicals. This ensured that I was proficient in my care for patients and enhanced the safety of my patients. I was also responsible for documenting the care of my patients. After every clinical day, I would have to submit a Sim Chart for my patient that included my assessments, care plans, diagnosis, and medications. Being held responsible for my skills check offs, evaluations, and patient documentation ensured that I was constantly thinking about the care I was providing and how I was taking advantage of my clinical experiences.
