This year I had the great opportunity to volunteer at the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia’s Tour de Midnight. This is a bike race that helps raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia. Since this event occurred during a pandemic, safety was imperative so I spent the day screening all participants for COVID-19. I also helped with cleaning up after the event. It was heartwarming to see how many people showed up to this event to raise money for this great cause. I don’t think many people know how much epilepsy affects people, but this event helped raise awareness for this disease and the people it affects. It was a great event to be a part of and I am so happy it could still be help despite the obstacles of occurring in a pandemic.
