Staffing

Recreation Therapy Director:

  • The department will have one Recreation Therapy Director. Qualifications for the position include a current CTRS credential, 4+ years of experience as a CTRS, and a current CPR/First Aid Certification. The Recreation Therapist Director Responsibilities include supervision of staff and managing all aspects of the Recreation Services department. This person will facilitate the coordination, development, and implementation of Recreation Services for all residents/patients with the goal of providing the highest degree of quality care.

Recreation Therapist:

  • The department will have 5 full-time Recreation Therapists which means they will work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday. All those in the position must have a current CTRS, CPR/First Aid Certification. The Rec therapist Role is to support the clients physical and mental wellness by organizing therapeutic programs and activities, depending on the patients’ condition and existing treatment plans. Recreation therapists work with other medical health professionals for advice and medication needs. They also track the patients’ progress, maintain a medical chart, and report any updates to the physicians and patients’ family members. A recreation therapist manages the resources and materials for the activities and ensures the safety and security of the participants. The Rec Therapist should report back to the Recreation Therapy Director.
  • The Department will have 2 part-time Recreation Therapist that will work no man than 30 hours a week. All those in this position must have a current CTRS, CPR/First Aid Certification. The Rec therapist Role is to support the clients physical and mental wellness by organizing therapeutic programs and activities, depending on the patients’ condition and existing treatment plans. Recreation therapists work with other medical health professionals for advice and medication needs. They also track the patients’ progress, maintain a medical chart, and report any updates to the physicians and patients’ family members. A recreation therapist manages the resources and materials for the activities and ensures the safety and security of the participants. The Rec Therapist should report back to the Recreation Therapy Director.
  • The Department will have one PRN Recreation Therapist. All those in this position must have a current CTRS, CPR/First Aid Certification. The Rec therapist Role is to support the clients physical and mental wellness by organizing therapeutic programs and activities, depending on the patients’ condition and existing treatment plans. Recreation therapists work with other medical health professionals for advice and medication needs. They also track the patients’ progress, maintain a medical chart, and report any updates to the physicians and patients’ family members. A recreation therapist manages the resources and materials for the activities and ensures the safety and security of the participants. The Rec Therapist should report back to the Recreation Therapy Director.

Intern:

  • The department allows 3 intern each year. Only a full-time CTRS with at least 2 years of experience are eligible to supervise an intern. Interns must be working towards a B.S. with specific course in therapeutic recreation, and also have a current CPR/First Aid Certification. Interns will work alongside whoever is supervising them and helping in any way they can. Interns will report to their supervisor if needed.

Volunteer:

There are many opportunities for volunteers to get involved, whether you enjoy interacting with patients, supporting our operations, or assisting with one of our signature events. Volunteers must be 16 years or older to volunteer. Volunteers can find a placement at one of our programs that best fits them. Number of volunteers is dependent on programs safety, nature, and CTRS preference. The volunteers will report back to a full-time recreation therapist or the Recreation Therapy Director if needed.
