Letter to Senior Self

Dear Senior Self,

As you probably remember this letter is the absolute last thing that you wanted to write, procrastinating until the very last day before it was due. It’s difficult to find the words to describe how amazing the past year has already been, and how much we have to look forward to in the next three. It’s crazy to think that the first year of college is already complete, and in only three short years we could be teaching in our very own classroom. I learned a lot this year being away at school, not only in class but also about myself. I remember last year, not wanting to leave and be so far from my friends and family, and now this year I’m already counting down the days until I can go back to school (exactly 9 weeks from today). Longwood has become a second home to me, and I hope that the past three years have been just as good for you as the first one already was for me. By the time you read this I hope that we have had the opportunity to do the many things that Longwood offers, and the chance to visit and explore a different country by studying abroad. By this point, I know that you will be looking for job openings and starting your first year as a teacher, so remember don’t stress!! We have all the tools and knowledge necessary to create an amazing learning environment, and I know your first year as a teacher is going to go great. And even though I know we need to be focusing on work and school, don’t forget to make the time for the things that we love to do, and keep chasing the things that make you happy.

You’ve worked so hard to reach this point, best of luck with the rest of our life:)!!
