Letter to Senior Self

Dear Senior Self,

You have just finished your first year of college and are now one step closer to completing your degree. This year was full of memories and hardships but you pushed through them. Many times throughout the school year you were faced with a problem that would impact yourself as a person and your academics. Even though you were knocked down at points in the semesters, you always go up and had people supporting you the entire way.

This year you learned what it was like to be a part of such an amazing community by being in the Cormier Honors College. The Honors College has supported you through and through and will continue to over the course of the next few years. This year you learned about the three pillars that the Honors College is based on, scholarship, service and community. All throughout your freshman year, you could find all three pillars present in anything that the Honors College organized or provided. Through scholarship, they provided extra honors classes when they were all filled so that you could take those classes as honors. Through service, they provided different areas of the community that needed help during the Honors Retreat. Through community, they became a home that you could always go home to in times of need. This year you learned that the Cormier Honors College will always be there for you whenever you need them.

In the future, you hope to study abroad in Europe and learn about how their criminal justice system works and what goes on inside it. You also would like to be able to be a part of more organizations around campus, such as Ambassadors and Peer Mentors. By the end of your journey at Longwood, you hope to have made an impression on campus and know that you contributed to the amazing community that you called home for the next few years.

Sincerely,

Your Freshman Self
