Microbiology was the first honors and upper level biology class that I had ever taken. It was fall of my sophomore year, which was my first semester as an honors student. My professor asked us to pick a disease that was currently thriving or present in our society, specifically an STD.
It was the most pretty assignment I had ever done, but it was important to learn about. We had multiple writing assignments like this throughout the semester. In this class, I had to learn time management and better studying skills quickly. The assignments piled up quickly and were different than my lower level classes my freshman year. I later took this STD project and completed a presentation on it at the Honors Research Seminar later in the semester.
Microbiology was no where near my favorite class, but it was another stepping stone in becoming a well rounded biologist and better student.
