Letter to my Senior Self

Congratulations on a achieving a milestone that you have looked forward to for many years. I know this means a lot to you and your family. You have worked so hard for this and I know that all of the hard work was worth it. Enjoy the moment!

Life will get real soon, more real than you already thought it was. Here comes your career. By this time, you should know if you have gotten into medical or pharmacy school by now. You studied SO hard last summer to achieve this life-long goal. If you haven’t heard back, it is okay. Try again and keep working hard! This does not define you and you can do anything you truly want to. Dream big and keep putting in the work.

Your softball career is either over or almost over by now. Recovering from two back-to-back hip surgeries has not/will not be easy. I hope your senior season was everything you hoped. This year will be full of lots of lasts and lots of firsts. Enjoy both! You have worked so hard in your sport since you were 8 years old and I know it will be difficult to see it come to the end. I am proud of how softball has shaped you and how many life lessons were learned throughout this journey.

No matter how hard life got, how stressful each semester seemed to be from day one, you pushed on. This is something no one can ever take from you. The world is yours for the taking!
