Dear Freshman Caydee,
Yes, I am completely used to college life now! While life is still kind of rough, I have learned to get through it and to keep pushing through. I feel incredibly successful that I have gotten through and completed my undergraduate degree. I am now on to greener pastures for graduate school in upstate New York. You probably never would have guessed we would be getting into such a prestigious graduate program for museum studies!
There have definitely been several moments where my anxiety and self-doubt seemed to be the only thing on my mind, but they are all in the past now. It has taken me a while and I still have a long way to go, but I definitely feel more confident right now than I ever have before. While I will be working in the museum sphere, after my internship, I decided that museum education or archival work is more for me than curation.
About that extra minor? Well, I dropped the philosophy minor because it was too much to have two minors! However, adding Art History was a great choice because I met my best friend in one of the classes and found a love for art that I could never have imagined. Now I go to art museums every chance I get!
Overall, I think my time at Longwood University has been a rather great success and I feel like I have accomplished a lot. I am proud of myself and I am excited to see where I go from here!
Love,
Senior Caydee
