To fulfill my goal 9, I attended a two week long faculty-led study abroad to Thailand. The course I took along with the study abroad was Econ 300. The two weeks prior to our departure we completed the majority of the Econ 300 course online so that when we arrived in Thailand we would have no formal lecture. The online course consisted of the economics of Thailand, some of the country’s history, and insight into the Thai culture. Completing the majority of our course prior to arriving in Thailand allowed me to learn about the country, its history, and its culture prior to arriving there.
We spent our time abroad studying the culture and economy of Thailand, traveling to both popular tourist destinations and destinations off the beaten path, eating authentic Thai cuisine at local restaurants, and fully immersing ourselves in the culture. It was an incredible experience, and the memories will certainly last a lifetime. The time I spent in Thailand was definitely one of the major highlights of my college experience.
